"GLARE" is a 6-minute short film that follows the surprising story of a woman who struggles to get to her phone while driving through a violent storm. Loosely inspired by true events, it depicts the nightmarish terror of a road trip gone wrong. The film was written, storyboarded, directed, animated, and edited by Ian Gaadt. It includes music from Brenda Lee's "Emotions," along with a violin score performed by Ian Gaadt and composed by Crabgraph. The film was animated on Procreate Dreams throughout 2024, with editing and compositing in Premiere Pro. "GLARE" was created with guidance from RISD professors: Hannah Subotnick, Christy Karacas, Eric Telfort, and Ramon Rivera-Moret. Special thanks to Giulia Gaadt who acted in the live action reference material.
